As part of the renewal of the cooperation agreement between Viadrina and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), new opportunities for collaboration have been identified. A particular focus is currently on exchanges between researchers and teaching staff from both universities.

Against this backdrop, UNAM Germany, in collaboration with the International Office at Viadrina and coordinated by Claudia Casiano, has organised an international online dialogue. The aim of the event was to bring together researchers from both institutions, highlight shared research interests and develop new opportunities for cooperation.

The thematic focus of the dialogue was on the topic ‘Human Mobility, Rights, and Borders: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Protection, Integration, and Exclusion’. Various sub-themes have been discussed from an interdisciplinary perspective, including issues relating to border regimes, migration, social and political integration, the protection of human rights, and mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion. The event was open to the public and hosted members of both universities as well as the wider interested public.
