The Center at the ‘Cultural Studies Border Studies’ section meeting, 17–18 July, Saarbrücken
In July, the KWG section ‘Cultural Studies Border Studies’ will meet at Saarland University under the theme ‘Flowing Borders’. Several researchers from the Viadrina Center B/ORDERS IN MOTION will once again be actively involved in the section’s work at this meeting.
The two current spokespersons, Peter Ulrich (Potsdam) and Tobias Schank (Saarbrücken), have managed to secure guest speakers who will enrich the work of the section with engaging keynote presentations.
In addition, during the two-day meeting, the section members will focus on the joint anthology on cultural studies of border research. The volume is being edited by Ulla Connor (Saarbrücken) and Maria Klessmann (B/ORDERS IN MOTION) and will be published by Nomos as part of the series “Border Studies. Cultures, Spaces, Orders”, with publication scheduled for 2027.
The Society for Cultural Studies (KWG) was founded in Koblenz in January 2015 by 111 members from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It now has around 350 members from 12 countries and is organised into 12 thematic sections and networks.
