OderHive - a multisensual river journey

FrauVonDa// invites you to an immersive, transmedia happening about the habitat of the Oder river.

Together we will dive underwater - into a kaleidoscope of hearing, seeing, feeling and thinking that will last two hours and range from meditative to disturbing. We play with the limits of human hearing, the scientific findings on the sensory perception of fish and turn the floor of the Logensaal Foyer into a vibrating riverbed.

A community of international scientists, artists and the public will meet in open discussion rounds. The interactive discussions are artistically designed and alternate with sound art, visual art, free improvisation and the compositions of Wojtek Blecharz.

Our newly developed format invites everyone to become part of the Oder community.

FrauVonDa// accompanied the research of the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries in Berlin for over a year. From this extensive research and photography, the Berlin artist group developed an attentive perspective on the hidden senses of life forms in the Oder. Together with the numerous scientific and artistic guests from Germany and Poland, FrauVonDa// poses the question of how we as a community want to share living spaces.

In a unique, multi-sensory polyphony, FrauVonDa// tells of the existing and possible living communities in and on the river - between scientific facts, artistic fiction and visionary discourse.

The project takes place in cooperation with the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries in Berlin, the Freie Universität Berlin/Intervenierende Kunst and European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) (central coordination by Viadrina Institute for European Studies IFES, in cooperation with Viadrina Center B/ORDERS IN MOTION).

Registration is not required.
