Contesting Borders/Shifting Orders: Russia's War of Aggression on Ukraine and Its Impact on Border-Making and Migration

Public event, 16.09.2022 as part of the GLOcalEAST-Summer School

In German and English with simultaneous interpreting

The war in Ukraine has far-reaching geopolitical, humanitarian and socio-cultural consequences - not only for Ukraine itself, but also for neighboring countries. In this public event, we will ask what migration and border studies can contribute to understanding the war and its consequences, and how they should be designed to address the new social challenges. The event will feature contributions from scholars and civil society activists from Serbia, Croatia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Italy and Germany, who are cooperating in the Erasmus+-funded GlocalEast project “Developing a new curriculum in Global Migration, Diaspora and Border Studies in East-Central Europe”, as well as with contributions from experts on and from Ukraine.
