The book "Language - Belonging - Politics" recently appeared in the series "Border Studies. Cultures, Spaces, Orders" at Nomos. After an introduction to the book the editors will discuss languages, groups and belonging in terms of social, symbolic and spatial boundaries with the contributors and the audience. The discussion will start from the premise that linguistic and social inequalities linked to language contact situations deeply interconnect with shifting social boundary formations that can promote or impede the political and linguistic recognition of minorities and indigenous communities.
